Ants are one of the most annoying household pests we have here in Hawaii. They are usually drawn to water sources in the kitchen and bathrooms, but can be found in bedrooms, pantrys, and other areas. Sometimes they are attracted to these areas because of sweets and sometimes they just wander through.

There are a variety of ant species in Hawaii including ghost ants, pharoh ants, big headed ants, carpenter ants, glaber ants, and white footed ants to name a few. Some of these species can make small colonies inside, but many will just trail inside from plants or ground underneath the house.
